| Should not be machine washed or dried Miala Diaper Bags Test fabric in an inconspicuous place Wipe with a warm, damp towel (We have actually machine washed some testers with no bad side effects, but cannot yet recommend this because of the different fabrics offered. If you want to try, go for it, turn it inside out, wash on cool, and air dry, but this is at your own risk ) Miala Swim Diapers Chlorine loves to eat away any fabrics...to make your swim dipes have the longest life, they should be washed in cool and hung to dry. They may also be machine washed and dried, though. MiaLa Costumes: Will vary with each different design. Most will need spot cleaning, some are able to be dry cleaned or handwashed. Please email before trying if you are unsure. Miala Diaper Covers Care Covers of microfleece, cotton, pul ...anything except wool can be machine washed. First washing should be on hot with a hot dry as well. This closes any stitching holes and 'sets' the waterproof material. Our covers are not prewashed, so you may want to wash before using. Velcro should be closed to prevent lint collecting or snagging other items Normal washing We recommend cool or warm wash. If you can hang them to dry, it will extend their life, but we know this is hard to expect from busy parents! Low heat drying is fine. Cotton printed outers, we recommend using only for daytime or short outings. If a soaking diaper sits in them for too long, the cotton will try to absorb, causing the outside to 'wick' moisture through the waterproof layer and get damp. A solution to this is to purchase 'camp dry' and treat the outside. It is about 6 dollars and one can is plenty to do your whole stash of covers plus your raincoat, etc...needs reapplying every few months Wool Covers should be hand washed in cool water with a mild soap (we use baby wash) and lanolized occasionally (we use lansinoh leftover from learning to breastfeed). Just squirt a little into some hot water to dissolve, then pour in your cool sink. This helps condition and waterproof your cover. Miala Diaper Covers Usage Chinese Prefold : Fold diaper into thirds on the seamlines. We use these and love them. Also, prefolds that are too big this way may be folded into fourths perpandicular from the seamlines. Lay cover open on changing pad, inside facing up. Place prefold in center of cover lengthwise-its ok if the ends hang out a little, but the crotch should not. Place baby down and *quickly* fold front up to belly button and wrap side wings around to close. No pinning, no twising and no need to open diaper up...we never let any yucky materials touch the skin (unlike other brands). Contours and Fitteds: Same as above without the folding. Make sure if you are using a fitted that it is a "trim fit" or else it will be to large in the crotch to fit nicely under the cover. Problem: Wetness at legs Solution: You need a smaller cover, you need more absorbant diaper, or your cover has not been cared for properly. Problem: Stitching came apart Solution: If the cover is fairly new, or at least not old and uncared for, this will be repaired or replaced at our discretion free of charge. Same with any production flaw. Problem: Whole cover feels 'damp' when diaper is wet Solution: Probobly a cotton exterior. Treat with camp dry for prevention of wicking. Change more frequently. Also can happen to old covers after too many cycles in the hot dryer. Problem: Velcro doesnt hold Solution: Clean lint out of the hook side. If still unusable, check for flaw.
